Research Agenda
Our research team utilizes interpretive social science methods such as interviews, surveys and participant observation to identify and examine the social implications of nanotechnology. We are in various stages of conducting several studies that will further our understanding of how society perceives nanotechnology and thinks about the risks and benefits associated with it.

Ethics Education
Our research team connected the successful infrastructure and resources of the Center for Bioethics to the new programs and resources for NBIC education programs. These are directed towards graduate students, pots-docs and faculty working at nanoscale research, as well as teachers and the general public.

Library
We have established a comprehensive written library that includes journals, articles and books on topics related to the ethics and the social implications of nanotechnology.

Internet Resources
Ethics of Nanotechnology website was launched earlier this year. It is an innovative and broad resource to inform, facilitate, and stimulate discourse. Users will find existing and important publications, news, and information about the
social and ethical aspects of nanotechnology from academic institutions and centers, industry research centers and scientistsThe virtual infrastructure provides c, informational, and easy to use environment for users, design

  • Nanocasts: Dozens of 15-20 minute audio interviews with groundbreaking researchers, industry-leading executives, and senior government officials involved in nanotechnology. In collaboration with producers of the talk radio show “SCIENCE AND SOCIETY.”

  • Web Resources: Selected introductory guides to nanotechnology content and categorized links providing an effortless and comprehensive access to journals, blogs, and daily news sites.

  • Centers & Programs: A complete directory of all research, academic, non-profit, private, government, and international nanotechnology initiatives underway or planned.
